The Maverick County Environmental And Health Association Has a Successful Brisket Plate Sale















Maverick County Precinct 3 – The Maverick County Environmental and Public Health Association held a successful brisket plate sale this past Sunday to help raise funds that will cover travel expenses for the representatives of the association to travel to Austin, Texas during the first days of August. The association plans to attend the public hearing on the renewal of the license for coal mine Dos Republicas. The plate sale was held at the facilities of the Maverick County Lake, where volunteers worked together to prepare delicious Brisket plates, which were sold from 11 am to 2 pm. About 20 members of the association attended the event. Precinct 3 Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales was also present at the event showing his unconditional loyalty and support for the association.

Ex-Mayor And Beloved Friend Chad Faster Has Passed Away. He Was 63 Years Old.

Maverick County Precinct 3 – On behalf of Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales and Precinct 3 staff, we would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the Foster family on the passing of our dear friend and beloved ex-major of Eagle Pass, Chad Foster. Mr. Foster died this past Saturday morning after a long hard battle with cancer. He was 63 years old. Mr. Foster served as the mayor of Eagle Pass, he was the owner of Foster and Associates real estate company, was involved in numerous associations in the United States and Mexico, and was a member of the economic development association created by Commissioner Rosales that helped to attract businesses and development to the Maverick County Airport and Radar Base. Thank you for serving our community and being a great friend to all of us. May you Rest in Peace Chad Foster.

Maverick County Awarded With $3,135,000 From USDA Funds For Water Plant Expansion Project















Maverick County Precinct 3 – On July 24, 2012, Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and County Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales visited with USDA Area Specialist Mr. Jaime Maldonado to sign the letter of conditions for a total funding of $3,135,000 to start a project called Water Plant Expansion. From the total funding, $1,107,000 will be a grant and the remaining $2,028,000 wil be a loan that will be repaid in a term of no more than 40 years. With the water plant expansion, the County will be able to meet the demand of potable water for the residents of Airport, Radar Base, Normandy, and Quemado.

Seco Mines Community Center Will Be Having A Say No To Bullying Class Wednesday July 25, 2012















Maverick County Precinct 3 – The Seco Mines Community Center working together with the Winter Garden's Women's Shelter, Heart Project, and The Eagle Pass Police Department are having a "Say No To Bullying" Youth Awareness Class. This class is designed to prevent and reduce the bullying that currently affects our youth today. These types of programs teach our youth the skills that are needed for conflict resolutions, problem solving, and will help promote social competence. We encourage all youth ages 7-15 years of age to attend. The class will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 10:00am - 11:30 am. A Ten Inch Water Pipe Has Succesfully Been Installed And Is Pumping Water At A Flow Rate Of 70,000 Gallons Per Hour











Maverick County Precinct 3 - The working crew from the Maverick County Water Treatment plant have notified us that a ten inch water pipe has been succesfully installed and is already pumping water at a rate of 70,000 gallons per hour. A total of about 350,000 gallons are needed every 24 hours for the plant to be able to provide service of which 40% alone is used by the GEO prison, the rest is divided amongst Quemado, Normandy, and Radar Base. The water extraction process should take about 6 hours to complete. The Maverick County Water Treatment Plant should be able to fully service all of our consumers by tomorrow Friday afternoon.

HEB Donates An Eighteen Wheeler Truck Load Of Bottled Waters For Those Affected By The Canal Breakage











Maverick County Precinct 3 - Seco Mines Community Center Director David Lopez has informed us today that HEB store has donated an eighteen wheeler truck load of bottled waters. Distribution of these waters will be done today throughout the afternoon to ONLY RESIDENTS OF PRECINCT 3 THAT WERE AFFECTED BY THE MAIN CANAL BREAKAGE AND ARE PROVIDED WATER SERVICE THROUGH THE WATER PLANT. RESIDENTS MUST ALSO SHOW THEIR CURRENT PRECINCT 3 WATER BILL TO RECEIVE THESE CONTRIBUTIONS. Commissioner Rosales would like to express his gratitude and thanks to the HEB store and their wonderful donation to Precinct 3 in this time of need.

Commissioner Rosales Continues To Work Closely With Stallion Water Line Services On Transporting Water To Intake Pumps



Maverick County Precinct 3 - Efforts continue today for the restoring of water services that were disrupted last week due to a major break in the eastern water canal near Normandy which occured on July 5, 2012. Commissioner Rosales informs us that right now with the assistance of Stallion Water Line Services from Tilden TX they are laying down water extraction pipes that will be used to transport water to the intake pumps that provide water services to our residents. We asks that the residents and companies be patient with this ongoing process as every possible effort is being made to restore services.

St. Mary's Student Attorneys Will Be Visiting The Seco Mines Community Center For A Legal Clinic






Maverick County Precinct 3 - Student Attorneys from the Center for Legal and Social Justice will be offering advice on your legal issues. This legal clinic will take place at the Seco Mines Community Center on July 14, 2012, from 10am - 2pm. Bring any supporting documents dealing with your case. This advice is absolutely free. Some of the legal areas we will be offering advice in are Social Security, IRS/Tax Issues, Identity Theft, Debt Collection, and Consumer Issues.

Commissioner Rosales Informs The Public On A Major Breakage Of Main Canal Upper Retaining Wall



Maverick County Precinct 3 - Commissioner Rosales informs the public that the canal at the Maverick County Water District has suffered a major breakage at the main canal, the upper retaining wall has washed out completely, and therefore the county is forced to notify our residents that they are to use the water for human consumption only. NO irrigation, watering of lawns, washing of vehicles etc…until further notice. Inspections will be done and citations will be issued. No Exceptions The County and Maverick County Water District are looking for resources to supply the water plant for treatment and distribution. We are working with the Maverick County Water District to resolve this issue as soon as possible. If you should have any questions you may contact the Maverick County Water District at 773-5129.

Quemado And Normandy Residents Unite In Celebration Of 4th Of July



Maverick County Precinct 3 - In support and honor of our great nation, Quemado and Normandy area residents came together for a 4th of July celebration. The celebration took place in the community of Quemado, TX where the residents began a march from the community center to the park where the public participated by horseback, bike, on foot, and in vehicles. The festivities continued with an honoring of the U.S. flag and a speech by special guest Commissioner Precinct 3 Jose Luis Rosales, who gave a few words on 4th of July celebration. The celebration continued for a couple of hours with a picnic, music, and free food.
