Free Medical And Dental Clinic Being Offered This Saturday March 3rd At The Seco Mines Community Center
















Maverick County Precinct 3 – On behalf of Quad Counties Council (Colonia Promotor(a) Program), Health and Human Services Commission and Christian Medical Association we will be having doctors and dentists coming to the Seco Mines Community Center and Sunset Garden Apts. on Saturday March 3, 2012 from 8am to 3pm.  This services is offered free of charge for the community. Services include fillings, extractions and cleaning of the teeths. Doctors services offered are medical attention and medication included if medication is available. Residents must not have any medical insurance to use this service. We encourage the community to come take advantage of this great service currently offered at no cost to the residents of Maverick County.

Another Major Cleanup Campaign Initiates At Radar Base Focusing On Neighborhood Properties
















Maverick County Precinct 3 – The Radar Base located in precinct 3 is currently undergoing a major cleanup campaign. Precinct 3 workers were present throughout the area especially the residential neighborhoods picking up brush and cleaning the entire area in general. Commissioner Rosales stated once again the importance on keeping this area clean and due to the location he will to continue to service it more frequently. Commissioner Rosales To Meet With Quemado And Normandy Residents Every Other Wednesday At The Precinct 3 Outreach Office In Quemado Texas

Maverick County Precinct 3 – Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales will be having meetings with all residents in the Quemado and Normandy areas. This meetings will be held every other wednesday to provide residents with the opportunity to discuss closely their needs for improvement, upcoming projects, and any other concerns the residents may have. All meetings will be held at the Maverick County Precinct 3 Outreach Office located in Quemado, Texas at 5:30 p.m. You may contact the commissioner directly with your questions or concerns at 830-352-5052 or by simply calling the office at 830-773-1716. Maverick County Environmental And Health Association Visited With Residents In Quemado Texas

Maverick County Precinct 3 – The Maverick County Environmental & Health Association recently visited Quemado, Texas. A meeting was held in Quemado for all residents. The topics discussed, were the possible opening of a coal mine in Eagle Pass by Dos Republicas. Residents of Quemado were made aware of the dangers and health hazzards involved in coal mining. The association urges the Quemado residents to help and unite for the opposition of this coal mine. All residents are invited to attend theses public health meetings as they provide very important and useful information on the current coal mine hearings. Jazmin Street Undergoes Construction Of New Curb And Gutter To Alleviate Flooding Issues

Maverick County Precinct 3 – The contruction at Jazmin Street continues in an effort to enhance the quality of life for our residents. Jazmin street will be undergoing the building of new curb and gutter. This street has been experiencing flooding issues that has not only deteriorated the street but has also affected the residents who live in this area. The curb and gutter construction will help alleviate the flooding problem. Precinct 3 residents can be rest assured that their tax dollars are at work and are that they are being utilized correctly, says Commissioner Rosales.

Commissioner Rosales Working Together With City Of Eagle Pass On ADA Ramps And Sidewalks For Avenue A








Maverick County Precinct 3 – Commissioner Rosales once again working together diligently with the City of Eagle Pass on installing ADA compliant ramps and sidewalks on Avenue A street. Commissioner Rosales commented "Like always I’m here for the people and to pursue rapid and persistent progress for our residents". Working together with the city has allowed Mr. Rosales to address precinct 3 issues not only existing within the county but within city limits as well.

The Seco Mines Community Center Distributed Potatoes To Precinct 3 Residents









Maverick County Precinct 3 – The Seco Mines Community Center notified us today that at 1:30pm today they will be distributing potatoes to the residents of Precinct 3. This distribution is made possible by the ongoing efforts of Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales and food donations from various agencies. Distributions are made frequently at the Seco Mines Community Center, Quemado Area, and Deer Run Office.  Please check with precinct 3 office staff for the next distribution date. ADA Compliant Ramps Will Be Contructed At Valerie Park Located In Seco Mines
















Maverick County Precinct 3 –  Commissioner Rosales with his continuing efforts has initiated a project for the next few weeks at the Valerie Park located in Seco Mines. This project will consist of the contruction of new ADA compliant handicap ramps. These ramps will be installed at all entrance sidewalks, restroom areas, and picnic areas. Rosales stated that this upgrade is very neccesary in these parks. It is an issue that has been addressed and we will continue to evaluate the precinct in its entire to locate areas that need ADA ramp accessibility. The total investement for this project is about $12,200.

Annual VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program Now Available At The Seco Mines Community Center

Maverick County Precinct 3 –  We would like to inform all the community that the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assitance) program is already available at the Seco Mines Community Center. The days of operation are Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment only. The Maverick County VITA Coalition in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service(IRS) was formed to help prepare free federal income tax returns for low to moderate income families in Maverick County. For more information please call the office at 830-773-5588 to make an appointment.


Eight New Lights Have Been Installed At Mariana Park Located In Seco Mines Mariana Street

Maverick County Precinct 3 –  Precinct 3 offices informed us today that the park located on Mariana street just got a recent upgrade in the form of new outdoor lighting. Eight new lights have been installed with more additional enhancements to come. Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales said Mariana Park is undergoing a total maintenance operation from new restroom facilities, new dirt added to playing field, repairing the playing field fence, and now new lighting. These lights will help illuminate more at night making our residents feel  comfortable and safe when utilizing the park in the evenings.

Maverick County Pct.3 Economic Development Association To Host The 100th Paint The Town Event At Seco Mines Mariana Street Park



Maverick County Precinct 3   The 100th Paint The Town event will be hosted by the Maverick County Precinct 3 Economic Development Non-Profit Association on March 3, 2012 at Mariana St. in Seco Mines in an effort to stop gang related graffiti throught out Maverick County. David Lopez director for the Seco Mines Community Center stated, "We are very happy and excited with this event, it is important and special to us as we will be honoring the memory of Hector Munoz Jr." Some of the events taking place are a ceremony of the park sign unveiling by the Eagle Pass High School Building Trades students following a Youth Baseball Tournament, Girl's Fast Pitch Tournament, and other activities for the public to enjoy such as DJ Music, Jumping Castle, and more. The public is invited to attend the 100th Paint The Town and we encourage those of you interested in volunteering to please come by the Seco Mines Community Center or simply give us a call at 773-5588 or 773-1716. We hope to see you there.

Maverick County Precinct 3   Sarrah Flores from the Maverick County Precinct 3 office informs the public on a USDA program assistance that is currently being offered to low-income families in precinct 3. There are several issues that the USDA can assists the residents with. Maverick County Precinct 3 - Two decades after the first salvos were fired, a bitter battle over a plan to mine millions of tons of low-quality coal in Maverick County to be burned in smog-producing Mexican power plants will resume next week. On Monday, an examiner for the Texas Railroad Commission will begin hearing evidence on an application by Dos Republicas Coal Partnership, a company owned by Mexican industrialists, to operate a large strip mine just north of Eagle Pass.
The company wants to extract as much as 2.8 million tons of coal a year, for as long as 20 years, and ship it by rail through downtown Eagle Pass to federally owned power plants just outside Piedras Negras.
