St. Mary's University Law Students Offering Free Legal Advise At The Seco Mines Community Center

Maverick County Precinct 3 - Student Attorneys from the Center for Legal and Social Justice will be offering advice on your legal issues. This legal clinic will take place at the Seco Mines Community Center on February 4, 2012, from 11am - 2pm. Bring any supporting documents dealing with your case. This advice is absolutely free. Some of the legal areas we will be offering advice in are Social Security, IRS/Tax Issues, Identity Theft, Debt Collection, and Consumer Issues.

Commissioner Rosales And Staff Evaluate Caliche Roads and Their Conditions In Normandy And Quemado Areas

Maverick County Precinct 3 – Due to the continuous rain Maverick County has received in the past few weeks, Precinct 3 staff under the administration of Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales performed an evaluation of all the Caliche roads and their conditions in the Normandy and Quemado areas. In speaking with Mr. Rosales he stated these roads needed to be addressed as soon as possible due to the rapid decline in their conditions. The more maintenance we give these roads the less money the county has to spend on repairs. It is an ongoing process, says Rosales but like always we are here to serve our residents and have incurred the task of repairing all of these roads. We will continue to pursue fast and effective solutions that will enhance the quality of life for all of our Precinct 3 residents.

The Ballet Folklorico Dance Team From Graves Elementary Held Their Practice At The Seco Mines Community Center

Maverick County Precinct 3 – The Ballet Folklorico Dance Team from Graves Elementary held their practice yesterday at the Seco Mines Community Center. Commissioners Rosales as always continues to support all local agencies and schools in these types of youth activities. The community center was created for the public and will continue to serve the public. Im very pleased to see a growing participation from our youth stated Rosales. Seco Mines Community Center Distributed Bananas, White Bread, And Sweet Bread To Precinct 3 Residents

Maverick County Precinct 3 – The Seco Mines Community Center notified us today that they distributed Bananas, White Bread, and Sweet Bread to the residents of Precinct 3. This distribution is made possible by the ongoing efforts of Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales and the donations of the South Texas Food Bank from Laredo, Texas. Food Distributions are made occasionally at the Seco Mines Community Center, Quemado Area, and Deer Run Office. Please check with the precinct 3 office staff for the next distribution date. Commissioner Rosales to address flooding issue at Becos and Rodriguez streets

Maverick County Precinct 3 (SPANISH) - El comisionado del precinto 3, José Luis Rosales, dio a conocer que se busca ayudar a familias que residen en las calles Becos y Rodríguez en este precinto para evitar que sus casas se inunden cuando llueva. Dijo que para ello se propuso ante la Corte de Comisionados

la contratación de una empresa para la construcción de drenaje pluvial que capte el agua de lluvia, además de 150 pies lineales de drenaje para desague. Rosales manifestó que éste es uno de los proyectos en los que se ha venido trabajando con la finalidad de solucionar problemas que tienen algunos de los vecinos de este sector en época de lluvias. Manifestó que es importante que la comunidad sepa que se busca atender todas las necesidades posibles con el presupuesto que en estos momentos se tiene, dada la difícil situación financiera por la que atraviesa el condado. Dijo que el condado espera una recuperación económica favorable que se ha venido dando poco a poco con la labor del juez del condado. Agregó que con parte de los recursos que se han recibido, el condado ha cubierto ya algunas deudas que se tenían, principalmente de las compañías que abastecen de materiales para la realización de diferentes obras.

Precinct 3 Road and Bridge Employees will be constructing speed humps in several school areas throughout the precinct

Maverick County Precinct 3 - Precinct 3 Road and Bridge employees have begun constructing speed humps throughout the precinct school zone areas, Some of the areas of focus are Seco Mines Elementary, Texas Migrant Council, and Pete Gallegos Elementary. Commissioner Rosales stated that more speed humps will be constructed soon throughout the surrounding areas of these schools. This important safety measure gives not only me but the residents a peace of mind that our children will be protected in these heavily traffic locations.

Precinct 3 Cleanup Campaign will be taking place soon in your neighborhood

Maverick County Precinct 3 - To all Precinct 3 residents outside the city limits, Brush/Bulky item collection will begin soon in your neighborhood. A notice will be delivered to your residence. Upon receiving this notice, you may begin placing items at the curb for collection. All items must be placed at the curb no later than 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 the day of the collection. Remember that crews will pass by your house only once. If you reside within the city limits of precinct 3 and you have brush to be picked up, you can call the office at 773-1716 to schedule the pickup. Commissioner Rosales would like to thank all the residents for their cooperation and support in making our community the cleanest place to live.

Seco Mines Community Center Adopt A Family Program Distributed Their Monthly Supplemental Food Bags

Maverick County Precinct 3 - The Seco Mines Community Center distributed their monthly supplemental food bags to Maverick County residents as part of the Adopt-A-Family program. The Adopt-A-Family is a program that is offered by the South Texas Food Bank and allows the community to become part of an effort to help alleviate the hunger problem that exists here in our community. This program is offered in eight counties with Maverick County being one of them. Any one wishing to sponsor or adopt a local family can do so by paying a small fee of $120 per year or $10 per month. The adopted family will receive a 30 lb. bag of supplemental food that will help them through part of the month. As a sponsor you can either choose a family or a family is chosen from a waiting list. If you are interested in sponsoring a family or would like more information, please contact the Seco Mines Community Center at 830-773-5588 and speak with Linda Pesina to fill out an application.

Radio Station La Rancherita Del Aire Interviews Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales

Maverick County Precinct 3 - Piedras Negras radio station “La Rancherita Del Aire" 580 AM interviewed Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales. Phone lines were open to the public to express their opinions on questions pertaining to Maverick County Precinct 3. Some topics discussed by the commissioner were Solid Waste Collections, Proximity and Boundaries of the precinct, Current projects taking place, and future organizational strategies that Commissioner Rosales has planned for his re-election term. Interview lasted approximately 38 minutes long and is in Spanish Audio format.

Scoreboard will be installed at the Quemado Baseball Park located in Quemado, Texas

Maverick County Precinct 3 – A baseball scoreboard was donated to the Quemado Valley residents by local business owners Juan Perez and Daniel Perez from the Quemado Valley Store. This scoreboard will be installed at the Quemado Baseball Park by Precinct 3 workers and will be ready for use by the middle of January. This donation is part of an ongoing effort from the community together with Precinct 3 that will be done throughout the year to promote youth activities and motivate our kids to participate more in sports, says commissioner Rosales. Commissioner Rosales would like to thank Juan and Daniel Perez for their wonderful contribution to the Quemado Valley community.
