Fire Prevention Meeting held in Quemado Texas

Maverick County Precinct 3 - A Fire Prevention Meeting was held on October 11, 2011 at the Quemado Community Center. This meeting was organized by Commissioner Rosales in an effort to educate the Quemado residents in Fire Safety Precautions and other forms of emergency safety guidelines. The city of Eagle Pass Fire Marshal Rodolfo Cardona Jr. and his assistant Felix Carrasco gave a presentation on fire safety, the causes of fires, and procedures that can be followed by residents to avoid this dangerous situations. Commissioner Rosales stated that the citizens of Quemado are about 20 miles away from Eagle Pass and therefore he finds it very necessary for residents to be educated and aware of fire prevention procedures that are needed in case of an emergency. Quemado also has a volunteer fire fighter squad that also assists in fighting fires throughtout the town. The residents of Quemado filled out applications for issuance of Free Smoke Detector Devices for their homes. Applications will be reviewed and processed accordingly by the Fire Marshal according to size of house and how many rooms it occupies. Once again Commissioner Rosales is looking out for the residents of precinct 3 not only in project constructions and administrative decisions but in the concern for the safety of our citizens.
